ACES – Getting to Yes on Climate Policy: Republicans, the Media, and a New Path Forward

BUY TICKETS

March 13 @ 5:30 pm

An Evening with Bob Inglis and Adam Davidson. Now that climate change is blindingly obvious, it’s time to think seriously about how to fix it. To do that, we’re going to need national policy, which will require Republican buy in. Join us for an evening with former South Carolina Republican congressman Bob Inglis, who has devoted his life to solving the climate problem by jump-starting free enterprise through carbon pricing. Joining him will be award-winning journalist, Adam Davidson, who will address the challenge of getting attention for climate change in the media and why it’s been so difficult. What policies could move the needle and get them through the morass that is congress? What new approach to media might help us move forward? Bob Inglis is the Executive Director of republicEn.org. He was elected to the U.S. Congress in 1992, representing South Carolina, from 1993-1998 and 2004-2010. Inglis began full-time promoting free enterprise action on climate change and launched the Energy and Enterprise Initiative (“E&EI” – rebranded as republicEn.org) in 2012. He received the 2015 John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award for his climate work. Adam Davidson co-founded & ran NPR’s Planet Money and was an economics writer for NY Times Magazine & the New Yorker. His book, The Passion Economy: The New Rules for Thriving in the Twenty-First Century, was named a best nonfiction & a best business book by Amazon. He has received the Peabody, Polk, & Columbia-DuPont Awards & was a collaborator in the film, The Big Short.
