Join Sugar Skull! A Día de Muertos Musical Adventure cast member Felicia B. Ávalos for an interactive dance workshop inspired by the vibrant Mexican dance traditions featured in the production. Participants will learn movement and choreography drawn from regional dance styles while exploring the music, culture, and traditions that bring these dances to life.
Designed for families and participants of all ages and experience levels, this welcoming workshop encourages everyone to move, learn, and celebrate together. No prior dance experience is required.
Felicia B. Ávalos is a dynamic Tejana storyteller, performer, and educator whose work combines cultural heritage, artistic expression, and community engagement. She holds an MFA in Dance and an MA in Arts Politics and has toured with Sugar Skull! since 2022.
The workshop concludes with a special performance by dancers participating in the Advanced Folklórico Master Class, offering attendees a glimpse into more advanced regional Mexican dance traditions.
