DESCRIPTION:Take Me Home\, a world-premiere production from DanceAspen\, brings John Denver’s music together with contemporary dance in a new evening-length work by DanceAspen. Seven dancers perform within a visual world shaped by Americana-inspired costumes and cinematic projections\, accompanied by either a live band or recorded music.Set to songs including “Take Me Home\, Country Roads\,” “Rocky Mountain High\,” “Annie’s Song\,” “Sunshine on My Shoulders\,” and “Leaving on a Jet Plane\,” the work follows four interwoven stories of love\, separation\, conflict\, and belonging. Denver’s familiar music gives audiences an immediate connection to the piece\, while the choreography offers a new way to experience it.Balancing familiarity with discovery\, the work welcomes dance audiences\, John Denver listeners\, families\, and first-time contemporary dancegoers into a story they already feel connected to.Take Me Home brings together an acclaimed creative team led by choreographers Jamar Roberts\, Pam Tanowitz\, Penny Saunders\, Noelle Kayser\, Jonah Delgado\, and Matthew Gilmore. Music direction is by Mack Bailey\, the Aspen musician who performed with John Denver. The production’s visual world is further shaped by John Horzen’s projection and video design\, costume design by Reid & Harriet\, and lighting design by Anna Pillot\, creating a richly layered theatrical experience that complements DanceAspen’s contemporary interpretation of Denver’s iconic music.Take Me Home is a DanceAspen production commissioned by the City of Aspen’s Wheeler Opera House\, Mike Harrington (Executive Director). DESCRIPTION:Andy Falco and Travis Book are both members of the Grammyaward winning bluegrass band The Infamous Stringdusters.Inspired by their love of the music of Jerry Garcia\, the duo branchesoff on their own for occasional tours to celebrate Garcia’s timelesssongs.“The project actually originated back stage at ‘Dusters shows whereTravis and I would typically warm up with some fun Jerry songs”Falco explains. “At some point we just thought it would be fun todo it in public”They draw from Garcia’s solo material\, his Grateful Dead catalogueas well as the Traditional songs Jerry loved to play.“Performing this music as a duo allows us to explore the songs andjam in a way that’s unique to playing as a Duo” Says Book. “Wetypically hear these songs in larger ensembles\, but the songs donewith just bass and guitar somehow make the music very interactivewith the audience. It’s really a testament to the quality of thesongwriting\, and we like to put a spotlight on that aspect of Jerry.”

Drawing on three decades in the field—including being charged\, bitten\, clawed\, stung\, and even raising a grizzly bear—Anderson pairs breathtaking imagery with deeply personal stories that challenge long‑held myths about “dangerous” wildlife.Among Wild Predators is both an adventure and a reframing: predators as vital\, intelligent beings—and as mirrors of our own courage\, empathy\, and survival instincts. At 26 he adopted an orphaned cub and later co‑founded Montana Grizzly Encounter\, a sanctuary for bears rescued from inhumane situations. DESCRIPTION:As part of the Changemaker Speaker Series\, Anand Varma\, biologist‑turned nature photographer\, reveals the worlds that unfold beyond human perception. Raised exploring the woods near Atlanta\, he first picked up his father’s camera as a teenager\, then studied integrative biology at UC Berkeley before turning science into visual storytelling. In his Berkeley “Wonder Lab\,” he uses custom rigs\, high‑speed video\, time‑lapse\, and macro techniques to slow down the fast\, speed up the slow\, and magnify the miniature. Through astonishing imagery\, follow the full life cycle of a honeybee\, watch hummingbird wings beat at lightning speed\, and glimpse behaviors as surprising as jellyfish mating and vampire bats hunting. A National Geographic Early Career Grantee (2010)\, Varma has photographed multiple stories for National Geographic Magazine\, including the 2014 cover story “Mindsuckers\,” and has been recognized as a National Geographic Emerging Explorer and World Press Photo Award winner for best nature story\, offering a fresh perspective on the complexity of life.
